On 13 June 2020, we gathered to clean up a small stretch of the coast.
The team did an enormous amount of work: clearing rubbish from the promenade, beach and Tel Shikmona archaeological site, asking beachgoers to clean up before leaving, telling interested passers-by about the project and inviting them to join our activities.
The cleanup in numbers
| Measure | Organisers’ report |
|---|---|
| Volunteers | About 40 |
| Cleanup time | 2.5 hours |
| Collected | 70 bags of rubbish |

What you need to take part:
1. No symptoms of a cold (cough, temperature above 38, sore throat).
2. A mask (fines apply).

We invite volunteers across Israel to join the project and organise local activities that draw the public’s and municipal authorities’ attention to pollution in our cities.
We want to create a wave of action after which the authorities can no longer turn a blind eye to streets, beaches and parks covered in rubbish. Special thanks for media support to the news websites haifaru.co.il and haifainfo.com, and to the administrators of ‘Haifa Today — From Hand to Hand’, ‘Haifa — Only the Most Interesting!’ and ‘I LOVE HAIFA — Haifa’.
