Research for decisions

Understand public opinion. Inform your next step.

Trust, social divisions and perceptions of events and institutions call for evidence. Dor Moriah helps define the research question and connect findings with the decisions your organisation needs to make.

Questions we can explore together

Understand an audience

What expectations, concerns and priorities do different social groups share?

Examine divisions

Where do groups disagree, and where is there a basis for dialogue?

Study perceptions

How do people perceive a public initiative, an institution or the information agenda?

For civil society organisations, foundations, research teams and organisations addressing public issues in Israel.

From a question to findings

  1. Define the task

We discuss the decision ahead, whose views matter and what is already known.

  2. Agree on the approach

We agree on questions, audiences, data collection methods and limitations. When fieldwork is needed, the provider and its role are defined separately.

  3. Analyse and prepare materials

Deliverables are agreed in advance: an analytical report, tables and charts, a presentation of findings or a discussion with your team.

  4. Discuss the implications

We distinguish observations, interpretations and limitations to identify informed next steps.

Research example: how Israelis perceive foreign information influence

In October 2026, a study of perceptions of foreign information influence was conducted within the Haifa Format project with the participation of the Geocartography Sociological Centre. The published study includes methods, findings and comparisons across social groups.

respondents: internet users aged 18+
1,003
believe foreign states pursue a long-term influence programme
65.7%
describe Israel’s actions in the information sphere as predominantly reactive
56.1%

Fieldwork took place in mid-October 2026. The survey describes respondents’ perceptions; it does not establish whether interference programmes actually exist. Methods and limitations of subgroup comparisons are detailed in the full study.

Before we begin

Can we start without a questionnaire?

Yes. For an initial discussion, describe the task, the audience and the decision the research should inform.

What are the timeline and cost?

These are determined after discussing the scope, method, audience and deliverables.

Can we propose a joint study?

You can propose a research partnership. Roles, data access and publication terms are discussed before work begins.

Tell us what you want to understand

Include your organisation, research question, intended audience and preferred timeline. The team can discuss the approach and possible forms of collaboration with you.
